For all natural fibre rugs, we recommend vacuuming your rug before any dirt is embedded, ideally twice a week. It's best to use a vacuum with either a motorised head or a rotating head, depending on the weaving techniques.
If you get mud on your rug, it's usually best to allow it to dry and then gently brush it off, followed by a thorough vacuuming. We do not recommend high temperature steam cleaning as this can shrink or expand the rug fibres. We recommend using rug cleaning kits for regular maintenance. For larger soiled areas please refer to a specialist carpet cleaner.
