These processes will be for deliveries up to 6pm on the 11th Jan.
NEW SOUTH WALES
As you are aware the outbreak of COVID-19 in Sydney his now effecting the whole metro area. There is also cases in Metro Victoria
As a precaution and to ensure we limit the disruption of deliveries at this moment we have outlined the following delivery procedures:
The northern beaches still has a higher level of restrictions. We will be maintaining the pre-Christmas delivery process of front door delivery only, for apartments we will deliver to the unit door.
The next update on these restrictions will be on 9th Jan.
For all other areas:
- Mask to be worn for all deliveries.
- Drivers will contact customers by phone prior to delivery to confirm if the customer is self-isolating.
- If the answer is yes, the driver must report back the state manager, so in conjunction with the account manager the best option for delivery can be determined;
i. Items to be left at the front door
ii. Delivery rescheduled - Drivers to ensure that social distancing occurs during the delivery.
- Drivers to use continue to use hand sanitiser before and after deliveries.
- No signatures will be required, photos will be taken of delivered items.
At this stage there have been no restrictions (except northern beaches) on entering people’s houses in either state, so we will continue delivering to room of choice and premium deliveries.
VICTORIA
As you are aware, Melbourne has been placed into tighter restrictions to control the spread of Covid-19. From the information provided by the Victorian Government we are able to continue to deliver products.
There will be a number of changes to the delivery model.
- DT will move to a contactless delivery service. There will be no Premium service level. Drivers are not allowed to enter the customers premise. They will only be able to deliver to the front door. Customers will be advised of the change of process as the driver approaches. Customers can agree to the front door delivery or have the delivery returned and rescheduled after the restrictions ease.
- All staff will be temperature checked at the start of every shift. If they have an increased temperature they will be sent home and asked to undertake a Covid-19 test. These staff will not return till their test returns positive.
- Drivers will continue to wear masks and have a supply of hand sanitiser in their trucks. Social distancing will continue to be practiced.
COVID SAFE MEASURES
Our premium delivery service partner Designer Transport has provided their updated protocols relating to the coronavirus outbreak, please see details from their team below.
Following the impact of Covid-19 we’ve made some changes to our delivery process that we want you to be aware of. The health and safety of our people and customers in the communities in which we operate is our priority. As of the 17th of March, we will have implemented additional measures with our delivery teams.
At Designer Transport we are committed to continuing deliveries throughout our network and if we experience any disruptions resulting from COVID-19, we will keep all clients updated.
You can be reassured that our delivery team will only be working if they meet the following requirements:
1. They have not travelled within the last 14 days
2. They do not have any symptoms of COVID-19.
To minimise the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 virus, our delivery and customer service teams will be asking the recipients of deliveries the following questions:
1. Are you unwell and if so, have you been, or do you have any reason to suspect that you've been exposed to someone diagnosed with or suspected to have the Coronavirus?
2. Are you in self-isolation?
3. Have you travelled overseas in the last 14 days?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we will ask you to stay inside and leave the box/furniture in an alternative location for them to collect once our delivery team has left OR we will reschedule the delivery.
Given the above, until further notice the following changes are being made to our delivery
process:
Signatures will not be obtained by the delivery team at time of delivery. Alternative delivery process will be applied as follows:
1. The doorbell will be rung, and delivery team will wait for recipient of the furniture to attend.
2. The delivery team will then ask and confirm with the customer the 3 questions above.
3. If it is all clear and the customer is not in any isolation the delivery team will proceed with the delivery. We ask that the customer is always situated at a minimum of 1.5 metres away from the delivery team.
4. A photograph of the parcel and front of property will be taken in place of the signature.
5. The driver will request and record the name of the person accepting delivery into our last mile app.
Please note that the process above will apply to all metro deliveries completed by Designer Transport in Victoria, NSW & Queensland.
This process will remain in place until further updates and advice from the Government are received, indicating that the threat of the virus has subsided.
Designer Transport is concerned about the wellbeing of its staff, customers and the general public and hence doing our part to reduce the overall risk to the community.
Designer Transport delivery teams have and will have attended a toolbox meeting outlining and educating them on the new process and that good hygiene practises are imperative. They all have sanitisers in their toolkits, gloves.
I would like to thank you for your understanding and support of this temporary measure.
